breakfast-sponsorsWe’d like to introduce you to the lovely businesses that are sponsoring the food and drink for the Bike Shed Bike Week Brekkie coming up on Thursday18th June (yes, this Thursday!).

YumChaa is a new cafe on Berwick & Noel Sts offering a delicious selection of teas and cakes, right in the heart of Soho. They’ll be supplying breakfast and green teas, and yummy fruit muffins.

You probably know that Crussh makes fresh juices and smoothies, but they also do breakfast and brunch too. Try their ‘summer porridge’ at the breakfast – a mix of oats, soaked in apple juice with yoghurt and berry compote.

Mile High will be giving you the chance to sample their 100% natural pressed red grape and cherry juice with ginger and aloe vera that packs a big antioxidant punch.

We look forward to seeing you there, visit http://bikeshedbreakfast.eventbrite.com now to let us know you’re coming.

Cycle during the London tube strike

If you’ve thought about cycling into central London but been a bit nervous, this week’s tube strike is a good opportunity to give it a try.

The London Cycling Campaign is suggesting you Bike the Strike and will be leading five escorted commuter rides into town from around London, starting at 7.45am.

Check out the LCC BikeTube website for more about routes and safe cycling.

We’d love to know about your experience with biking the strike, so leave us a note here over the next few days and let us know how it’s going/how it went. Were there more cyclists out? Was it your first time? Did drivers behave differently? Leave a comment below.

breakfast-of-champions-kaptI know you’ve just been dying to know more about the Bike Shed Bike Week Cyclists’ Breakfast (trying saying that ten times, fast), so here’s the details:

Thursday 18th June 2009

8:00am – 10:30 am

Soho Square

It’ll be a great chance for you to meet other cyclists, talk about what you need in terms of cycle parking, storage and shower facilities, grab some free grub and find out more about our cycle buddy programme. We’ll also have a limited number of Bike Week spoke reflectors and stickers to give away.

So, to help us get a handle on numbers, please let us know you’re coming here: http://bikeshedbreakfast.eventbrite.com and tell all your cycling friends to register too.

We’ll also need some lovely volunteers to help out on the day, so please get in touch if you can lend a hand or if you run a Soho business and you’d be happy for us to pop a Bike Week poster in your window to help publicise the event.

We’re also still looking for some more sponsors for food and drink, and cycle-related giveaways, so drop us a line if you’re interested in getting involved.
